Key filing season dates:
 
There are several important dates taxpayers should keep in mind for filing season 2024:
  • January 15: Due date for tax year 2024 fourth quarter estimated tax payment.

  • January 27th: IRS begins 2025 tax season. Individual 2024 tax returns begin being accepted and processing begins
  • March 15: Deadline for corporate tax returns (Forms 1120, 1120-A, and 1120-S) for tax  year 2024, or to request an automatic six-month extension of time to file (form 7004) for corporations that use the calendar year as their tax year, and for filing partnership tax returns (Form 1065).
  • April 15: Due date to file 2024 tax return or request extension and pay tax owed due.

  • September 16th: Deadline for extended Partnership and S-corporation returns.

  • October 15: Due date to file for those requesting an extension on their 2024 tax returns

 
 

How to report a telephone scam where someone pretends to be the IRS calling to harass you:

  1. Report the incident to TIGTA at 800-366-4484 or www.tigta.gov
  2. Contact the FTC and use their “FTC Complaint Assistant” at FTC.gov and add “IRS Telephone Scam” to the comments of your complaint
